The truck

Tomorrow morning we pick up a truck from our favorite rental place, We Rent It, on the Hill. They came through for us the morning we moved into our apartment, after U-Haul applied their rather odd definition of "reservation." Apparently, in Orange Country, "reservation" does not imply any obligation to provide you with the truck you "reserved."

We will have a 15' truck. Originally we thought that towing the car was scarier than traveling separately. Faced with the upcoming months of separation, we have changed our minds. Penske has a nicely reassuring video (windows only) explaining all the toggles and chains and safety pins and ratchets and hooks and electrical connections. We'll be fine, Ma.

What interesting photos from chaudes!

Nevermind. Your mother thinks you will do just fine figuring out all the chains and toggles.

No more photos from chaudes, thank heavens. I hope you covered your eyes, Ma.

WHAT photos from chaudes? Dag! I hadn't finished calling up all my friends and giving them your blogspot! They were SO excited when I told them what they'd find there!

Yes, those were very interesting....

Did you figure out the chains & toggles, etc.?

As of Saturday night, we haven't had the ultimate challenge of driving the car up onto the dolly. There will be pictures, I promise.

Dear Trixie: Cool! What's your blog address?

BTW, when the comment screen asks you to "Choose an identity," you can pick "Other" and leave any old name you want. Like Trixie or Daphne. Perhaps you discovered this in your perambulations.

"BTW," to the youngins, means "by the way."
