Badlands National Park

One of my first assignments might be at the White River Visitor Center at Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Knowing no more than that, I've been romping through cyberspace finding out things about the Park. Such as, half of the park--the half containing the White River VC--is within the Pine Ridge Reservation. So then I was off and surfing for information about the Oglala Lakota, and found this beautifully produced, Webby-Award-winning site by the Smithsonian.

Here's an honor and an early peak in my blogging career, this appearance on Waveflux's roll.

Yes, for institutions built around material objects, museums sure do love their words--sometimes at the ironic expense of legibility. As if, since the point is really the object, it doesn't matter how accessible the words are.
