Saw this yesterday. Pretty good, I thought. Never been a big comics fan, so Joe's references to the original story passed me by. And anything would've been better than the Governor-of-California-to-be in a scenery-chewing role. This one had more respect for the audience than many summer action pics.
What struck us both, forcibly, was how impossible it was to follow the fight scenes. And that seems typical of some movies 'these days' (a phrase which certainly heralds old age). While I appreciate that an out-and-out battle would be pretty chaotic, a scene in which I can't distinguish the hero from anyone else is a lost chance at storytelling. (In case you had any doubts, jk, this isn't one for you.)
