I'm taking an acting class. Here's my monologue: the Duchess of Gloucester's first speech in this scene.
I'm enjoying the class a lot, partly just for being "behind the scenes" again, which I loved so much about working with Historyonics. Also, it's a bit like a literature seminar: we look closely at the text to discover what drives characters, and we celebrate great writing (last night the teacher talked about an alliterative phrase of Shakespeare's like it was a scrumpdillyicious candy-coated treat).
And maybe, someday, if I ever work on a stage play again, it'll be better than if I'd never tried this. Honestly, though, if I never work on a stage play again, this is still, totally, really cool.
