Slow progress

It takes me an hour and a half to walk less than a mile. I’m out of practice with cities (nor is London typical), and can’t filter out details: every shop sign, every terra cotta ornament, every lintel is distracting. I lean against the posts and stare for 15 minutes at every corner.

Find the lions.

Built in 1904, the London Coliseum is still the largest stage in the city. The building has all the subtlety of Ethel Merman.
