reunion

Loyal and alert reader tcp noticed a reference to Joe's move to Frederick in the Upcoming Travel column. Let me be the first to announce on this blog that my husband and I will be living in the same state, the same city -- even the same apartment -- starting in August.

Joe's taking a year-long sabbatical from UM-St. Louis. He'll be developing a program that teaches kids to be better makers and consumers of "true stories," compelling narratives about actual events.

He and Rudy would have moved out here already, but Joe's also involved in a way-cool project at the St. Louis Science Center called YES. This summer he's helping them integrate technology into their program for teens, and he's also collecting data that he'll analyze and write about during his sabbatical.

We're renting the house in St. Louis and have every intention of returning to it. Eventually.

So that corresponds nicely with our move to larger digs in georgetown, with appropriate barbeque facilities for a displaced Missouri lawyer. You'll both need to leave the country and come in for a visit.
